    • Kris best place to go is the county clerks office, no you wont need a license but they will require you to register as a service vendor with the state. what this does is lower the risk of having the cops called on you every 30 seconds. I do work in down state Illinois and trust me it happen alot.

  2. I have been in the business for over 20 years and county clerks nothing, you need to get a business license or a business tax number it is a 1099 which means you pay your own taxes, you are required to carry A and O insurance from someone like york jersey, you have to have back ground check. you work from sun up to sun down and reliable mowers, tools and help. It is very expensive to get into but it does pay good. Ill give you that . Good luck

    • I am in the process of starting a maintenance or repair vendor company. I also would like to know who my clients will be. I am in St. Clair county, Illinois. I am also curious of how I can secure my first work order. I also am searching for general knowledge on how to make my business legit. I have a EIN and a name, I need insurance, but who do I go through. I will be conducting a trash-out service, maid service, yard maintenance service, and a rekey and lock change service.
